WISDOM OF CROWDS – BRUCE SOORD (THE PINEAPPLE THIEF) WITH JONAS RENSKE (KATATONIA)
The Pineapple Thief frontman, Bruce Soord, and Jonas Renkse, lead vocalist from Katatonia have announced a 3rd June 2013 release date for Wisdom of Crowds, their new project for Kscope.
Originally written with Renkse’s voice in mind, Soord sought out the acclaimed Katatonia vocalist to complete the compositions and release the music to the masses. Despite the rigorous schedules of The Pineapple Thief and Katatonia, the two musicians were eventually able to connect.
Both artists are currently enjoying unparalleled success with their main bands.
The Pineapple Thief have just completed a successful European tour following the release of their latest album, All The Wars in September. Rocksound described All The Wars as “an album of Muse-like, slow burning guitar anthems”, while Classic Rock stated it was “the sound of a band reaching the height of their powers” and Prog argued it was an“elegant, sophisticated work… moody and meaningful, introspective and universal.”
Katatonia also released a new album last year. Dead End Kings was released on the Peaceville label in August and reinforced their position as “one of the most consistently fascinating bands in modern heavy music.” (Metal Hammer, 9/10). The album featured heavily in the album of the year polls of magazines around the world and was also nominated for a Grammy in the band’s homeland of Sweden.

Introducing………T.W.I.N.S
INTRODUCING: T.W.I.N.S.
DEBUT SINGLE ‘FOUND A FLAT’ OUT JUNE 10th ON SPLIT RECORDS
WATCH VIDEO
London duo T.W.I.N.S. release their debut single ‘Found a Flat‘ on June 10th on Split Records.
T.W.I.N.S, Laurence and Hugo, first met on London’s club scene a few years back and cemented their artistic relationship by composing music for a gay porn series called “Indie Boys”. T.W.I.N.S is urban club music made out of trumpets, handclaps, live percussion and a bunch of curious instruments Hugo bought in the Marrakech souk.
If you’ve ever had the pleasure of looking for a house in East London, you’ll be able to empathise with the story spun on ‘Found A Flat’. To a perky electro bounce, the pair vent amusingly about unscrupulous landlords and sky-high rent prices.

Introducing….Lowerlands
INTRODUCING: Lincolnshire Alt-rockers LOWER LANDS Announce Video And Free Download Single ‘Eat The Rich’ on I Am Mighty Records

“Nothing short of excellent” – Punktastic
“It won’t be long before this band have it all” – DeadPress!
Hailing from Lincoln in the UK, alt-rock quartet Lower Lands haven’t had a bad start for a band who have only been together for a little over 2 years. They’ve got shows with breakthrough bands such as Deaf Havana, Sharks and Flood of Red under their belt already, as well as a stint touring the UK with Hawthorne Heights & Burn The Fleet. The boys have also just completed a lengthy eighteen show run in mainland Europe with friends Light Years, with their previous EP ‘Growing Pains’ and live shows receiving attention and praise from the likes of Kerrang! Radio, Front Magazine, NME.com and Big Cheese.

The debut EP “Growing Pains” is out now on I Am Mighty Records and the lads will be following up this summer with the release of their sophomore record ‘Canvas’ – another 5 track EP recorded at The Ranch Production House in the South of England (Gnarwolves, Bastions, The Catharsis).
New material sees the band consolidating their sound with a raw effervescence, newfound self-awareness and an uncovered individuality that should see them striding out onto the UK scene proper, as lead single ‘Eat The Rich’ (released for free download 22nd April on I Am Mighty Records) serves as a solid stick of energy infused, radio-detonating dynamite. The boys will be revealing the brand new video for the track on 4th April.
The band will be releasing three singles from the EP which is due to drop in Summer 2013 alongside a few fistfuls of tour dates that should satiate the growing appetite for a slice of Lower Lands’ water-tight and increasingly incendiary live show.

Introducing…..Klavikon
–––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––––
KLAVIKON reimagines ‘electronic’ music without the use of conventional processes – no
loops, no laptops, no sequencers. Instead, pianist Leon Michener employs a unique system of
amplified prepared piano. Augmenting the 88 keys with his own inventions and found objects - a
custom made pick up, a robot dog- he delivers cascading batteries of percussion, sub-basses
and abstract soundscapes. This
amalgam
of virtuosic technique and real-time analogue processing
is at once connected with Classical traditions of Stockhausen and Cage and the experimental
dancefloor idiom of Amon Tobin and Bochum Welt. The result is a fertile sonic territory,
sincere in it’s eccentricity, restlessly inventive,
that
resists
easy categorisation.

Irish born Daniel says about the track: “It was inspired by memories of walks around Belfast Lough and how that felt different to the new London landscape I found myself in. Time to think and ponder on new and old relationships alike, all compounded by the differing sense of space I felt.”
