The Kut – Rock Paper Scissors

The Kut are due to release their forthcoming EP, ‘Rock Paper Scissors’ on Criminal Records this month. The EP is a quicker than expected follow up to the ‘Make Up’ EP, that was also produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Skindred / White Zombie / Def Leppard). Inspired by bands like Deftones, L7, Hole, Incubus, Tool, Placebo, Nirvana and Faith No More, The Kut were voted into in the winning spots for MTV UK Brand New Unsigned 2014 Poll. Their 2014 ‘Make Up’ EP was soon released on Criminal Records and featured alternative smashes ‘No Trace’ and ‘Mario’.

Both videos amassed a great deal of support including that from BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Radio and Scuzz TV, where ‘No Trace’ spent 3 weeks in the Most Wanted Rock Chart, alongside the likes of Paramore and Green Day. Across the pond, the videos were played out on 16 USA channels via the Bongo Boy Rock n Roll Show and featured on Putpat TV (Germany, Switzerland, Austria) and Vevo playlists across Europe.
The forthcoming ‘Rock Paper Scissors’ EP has already been equally well received, with debut video ‘I Want You Maniac’ added to the playlists of MTV-U and AXS TV. These US channels joined major UK support from Planet Rock, Scuzz TV, BBC Introducing and Jim Gellatly’s New Music Showcase, alongside club support from Club NME and Medication. Add in two Top 40’s in the Czech Republic alternative charts and some welcomed encouragement from the likes of rock idols Dave Navarro and Shirley Manson, and this looks to be an exciting release time to check out The Kut.
With previous shows under their belt including the London Olympics 2012 and 15 festivals in 2014, this year will see the band continuing to tour their new material across the UK in support of the EP. The ‘Rock Paper Scissors’ EP is due for release on Monday 20th April, with signed CDs and downloads available to pre-order at http://thekut.bandcamp.com
